I know that GSX Server can do this by default, but it is very handy to add thit functionality to Workstation as well. In our case, Workstation is running on our Management Server. Many times a day we log on to the Management Server using a console session over RDP, and always we have to remember to not log off from this session but to disconnect it instead. When running Workstation VMs as a service, this is no longer needed.
